Since 1995, Attorney Melissa Reynolds has been representing clients in real estate transactions with a primary focus on helping buyers and sellers navigate the Maine real estate process. Her passion for real estate law began as a child helping her mother who was a real estate agent in Los Angeles. While preparing for open houses and other related tasks, Melissa experienced the real estate business firsthand and witnessed how some transactions can go wrong.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine, Melissa continued her education at Regent University School of Law where she focused her studies on real estate issues. Between her first and second years of law school, Melissa returned to Rockland to work with a real estate attorney. Upon graduating from law school, she returned to the same firm to build her real estate practice. Armed with extensive experience working with many satisfied clients, Melissa decided to open her own practice in 2017, addressing the local and state-wide need for skilled lawyers in the booming Maine real estate market.
From her office in Rockland, Melissa personally handles real estate matters in Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo Counties as well as completing title searches throughout the state of Maine. She has successfully completed more than 1500 real estate transactions ranging from single-family homes and apartments sold for less than $100,000 to larger residential and commercial closings valued at more than a million dollars. No deal is too large or too small and Melissa takes pride in the personalized attention she gives each client, regardless of the purchase price involved.
Melissa’s motto is simple: Be nice to people and be good at what you do.
When you hire Melissa for your real estate matters, rest assured she will handle the work with great attention to detail. She ensures all documents are prepared correctly, fully executed, and filed as required by law. She will guide you through your real estate transactions and help you feel confident that everything was done right. Melissa is well known for being ethical, discreet, and maintaining client confidentiality.
Melissa knows that buying or selling property may be the largest legal and financial obligation most people ever face. To reduce potentially stressful situations, she often holds real estate closings in her office where her poodle, Portia greets everyone, relieves tension, and keeps the mood light. Melissa guides her clients through every step of the real estate process and explains the process so you know your interests are protected and you can move forward with peace of mind.
When not in her office or celebrating a closing, Melissa is very happy to work with Mid-Coast Habitat for Humanity, Inc. in helping Knox County residents close on affordable housing. She lives in the country on 40 acres with her poodle Portia and miniature schnauzer Piper. Melissa enjoys all things related to knitting and learning to play the cello.
